Goldie's Giving Tree

On March 26, 2013 Goldie's Giving Tree was dedicated at Project Harmony. Gene Klein, Project Harmony Executive Director (left), explained how the Giving Tree will be used to help meet abused children's needs - much like an Angel Tree is used at Christmas. Pictured at the dedication are Verdell ("Goldie") Goldberg's family members Mark Goldberg (son), Kristi McKamy (daughter), Lola Goldberg (wife), Mike McKamy (son-in-law) and Peter Daiker, President of the Exchange Club of Omaha.

L. Verdell Goldberg ("Goldie") was a dedicated, long -standing member of The Exchange Club.  Through his involvement in the Club and other civic organizations, Goldie demonstrated a great desire to help others, especially abused children.  In September, 2012 Goldie lost a long battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis. Memorials in his name received by the Exchange Club were used to acquire and donate Goldie's Giving Tree to Project Harmony. Project Harmony's mission is to protect and support children, collaborate with professionals, and engage the community to end child abuse and neglect.
